More COVID-19, 15 Days to Slow Spread!

COVID-19 Information

I'm hearing from you regarding several concerns. What does the limitation on gatherings mean? How long will schools be closed? What about my child with special needs? If I lose my job during this critical time, where do I go for financial help? How is my business going to survive?

This is a very uncertain time and I want to be sure you have accurate information about key concerns. Please use the links included below for more detailed information.

Governor Evers and Secretary-designee Andrea Palm issued Emergency Order #5 prohibiting mass gatherings of 10 people or more. "Mass gatherings" is any planned or spontaneous, public or private event or convening. Exemptions include: Airports and Mass transportation; Food pantries and shelter facilities; Retail establishments; Health care; Voting establishments including libraries; Food establishments - take out, delivery.

Schools: The Department of Public Instruction is directing people to their COVID-19 website for more comprehensive information. This website is being update regularly.

*What about students with IEPs?

Workers without work due to COVID-19 may apply for Unemployment Insurance. As you can imagine, there is heavy call volume so please go online to apply if at all possible. The Department of Workforce Development COVID-19 Q&A is helpful, and you will find up-to-date information about unemployment insurance here.

We're building a list of restaurants open for business to patrons for take out and delivery. While we can't gather for a meal, we can still support local restaurants for a take out meal. My website will have a listing for establishments in our area, and we'll continue to build that list as folks let us know they're open.

We've all heard it time and time again, "Wash your hands with soap and water!" Now more than ever I believe we are listening to that admonishment many of us heard as kids. It's one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick, and prevent the spread of germs to others. The CDC has some great information on handwashing - a new activity while we social distance and help to keep ourselves, our families, our community safe from the spread of COVID-19.
