BREAKING NEWS: "Safer at Home" Emergency Order Released

Governor Evers Issues "Safer at Home" Order

Governor Evers just released details of his "Safer at Home" emergency order and I wanted you to have the information you need to keep your family safe, to know if you may still operate your business, to know if you may still work outside your home, to know if you may leave your home for essential items.

I believe most questions will be answered in the document itself. Please take time to look it over carefully.

Basically, the order says effective 8 a.m. Wednesday March 25, 2020 until 8 a.m. Friday April 24, 2020:

  • Folks should stay in their homes with some exceptions (see details in the order)

  • All non-essential business and operations must cease (see details about "essential" in the order)

  • All public and private gatherings of any numbers of people that are not part of a single household or living unit are prohibited.

After reviewing the order, if a business still has a question or is not exempted but believes their business is doing essential work, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) will be reviewing those cases. Please visit for more information and to complete the form to request a review of your essential status by WEDC.
